The rain has gone
And here I stand
In the midst of my green lawn
My feet are set on watered land
And the sky notes its dawn

How pretty are the flowers
From which the insects came
Sent from the sky in silver showers
All eaten by the flame

And from the leaves of many plants
Where water has been stowed
Sent from the clouds as not by chance
Its life has always flowed

A gift that we have taken
If not by chance alone
The wind itself has shaken
And kept what has been known
