It takes a lot of guts to say the things you say
It takes even more to keep the faith when things don't go your way...
You've opened up a variety of doors both good and bad
Shown me a lot of things I never knew existed
And offered me a hand when things seemed to fall apart.
You've made me laugh when all I wanted to do is cry
You've made me smile when all I wanted to do is pout
You've offered me a friendship so few have ever offered
And made me see the kind of person I really want to
be.

What I know is you're a special individual who deserves more credit
than you get

What I realize is it takes a great deal of guts to say and do the things you
do

What I know is I have a life now with very few regrets and that I've
been given a hand to hold when the ground seems unsturdy

What I know is that life has it queer twists and turns and somehow
you've managed to find me a map and while some walk around with
blindfolds I can always find a light

What I know is there's one thing I just now came to grasp:

Forget the shoulda, coulda, and has beens and continue
living with optimism and sincerity with every coming day, and I need to
remember all the things I haven't given and remember the things I did.
See I know things so many seem to miss out on, and thanks to you I
didn't have to.

Never lose the faith cause sometimes it's the only thing you'll
have.
