Don't Follow Me

Don’t follow me into this world of Dark
Leave my love
Let me go

Alone into my soul’s pouring rain
Where the black of the sky and that Of my
Heart are the same.

Don’t grasp for my hand
My love
Let me go

You’re better off without me
Crying and alone.

I promised I wouldn’t hurt you
I promised not to harm

This promise I shall keep
But to do so I must leave.

Don’t follow me into this
My doomed journey

I love you
I swear

But this love can no longer be.

I love you
This you know

But my love please let go
Of my hand
We both know
I must go.

Now I leave you with this:
A lingering kiss
And a plea
My love, please don’t follow me into this my doomed journey.
