That Child

Why doesn't she smile at the lonesome child
that only wanted to be seen
for anyone, just anyone to understand
why she dances all alone.
why can't he be more like the child
who smiles during sorrow
A heart so pure and ready to forgive
so willing to do just what's right
the blind child who offers a wilted rose
and calls it beautiful
so proud of what they've found
why can't we be more like the child
the innocent child who appears just that
the blind child who sees all
and is too wise to say so.
