Friendship Finally Grew

In your room
You dropped the news
That made me wanna cry
That made me wanna die
I wouldn't let you touch me
Or listen to what your words could be
I just wanted to be alone
But yet I didn't go home
I was so afraid
That I had chosen to stay
Because I was scared of you
And I didn't know what to do
This was the end
The realization that we are now truly only friends
Never again anything more
God how I wanted to walk out your door
But still I stayed
And we talked and played
Just like we once did
As friends when we were younger kids
It was fun and bittersweet
On me you were falling asleep
You rarely did that when we were together
The bittersweet memory will be with me forever
As I drove home at two
I thought of how our friendship finally grew
I was glad I stayed
Glad I played
Until I got home
And saw the greeting on my phone
What you wrote made me wanna cry
What you wrote in my heart wasn't a complete lie
But it made me think of the truth
Of both me and you
You've moved on
So too am I gone
Broke from the chains of us
THere will be no more fight or fuss
Only jokes and laughs
Is what I want us to have
Thanks to you I believe again
That we will become closer friends
Closer than we are now
Closer than we have been all around
So again for staying I'm glad
Because look how much fun we had
We finally found a place to start anew
And from it our friendship finally grew
