We said: Forget about it, leave it alone. Take it away and leaves us be, the
light of the day brings no peace.
She said: I can’t feel this way again; last night leaves me wishing for
death.
And didn’t you warn us? Could we believe you?
Yesterday was a memory. Tomorrow may never be.
Why didn’t you remind us? Today is a waste.
He said: React to me this way. Forget about nothing and dream about
forever.
You said: Regret is forgetful, but you’ll never live long enough.
And didn’t you tell us? Did we listen?
Yesterday was a memory. Tomorrow may never be.
Who will remind us? Today is a waste.
So we sing:
The sons have forgotten, the sins we regret
The blood we have shed
Remember our dead
