Concrete

Everyone and everything is wrong to you
Unless they see things the way you want them to
The way you look at people is incomplete.
You’re settled in your ways, you’re just like concrete

Rumble all the rubble if someone disagrees
An earthquake all for nothing, so watch out for debris
Solid to the core but still not tangible
To you, your every word is revered and factual

A word for this, a word for that, pick a bone
It seems that all your thoughts are set in stone
The same stones to pave your sidewalks and your streets
That you will walk over along with lonely feet.

But even I can see the cracks inside the stone
I hear it in your voice when you’re on the phone
Will there come a time when you just let go?
And crumble to the ground like concrete?
