Does the Sandman know my name?
Have we ever met?
Does he come into my room—
To steal my cigarettes?

My eyes stay open nightly
Like a local bar
5 a.m. is closing time
And smell like fat cigars.

My nights are filled with solitude
While I lay here awake
Sandman solace me with dreams
Insomnia please take.
