The Game of Heartbreak and Love

it comes and goes as fast as cash
a long term commitment gone in a flash
a brand new car that is suddenly crashed
at first it is cherished, and then it is trashed

it's like a rabbits helpless cries
or like a priest who tells too many lies
but sweet as the sugar in apple pies
and smells like a rose that never dies

but hurts worse than a muscle strain
you have everything to lose, and everything to gain
as fantastic as space, as humble as grain
capable of causing, endless pain

breaks like a pencil but fits like a glove
as black as hell, as white as a dove
a gentle push to a fullblown shove
this is the game of heartbreak and love.
