Eyes Wide Open

Dressed in black; no way to hide the pain.
Unspoken words cannot help what you did.
The scars, the bruises were a sign.
But no one knew. No one could see
You mistake. What you did to me.
That final image will stay with you forever
And those final few words will haunt you inside.
Just speak not; lay quietly on the bed.
Hear not and you shall see.
Control your anger. Hold it in. Let nothing out.
“Fight no more! The screams are too much
For my child-like ears to take!”
Darkness filled the room. Quiet. Speak no more.
Sit in the corner. Realize the mistake.
Hear not. Speak not. See not. After one hateful swing,
With that I fall to the floor.
Unhappiness, untruthfulness, and loneliness all faded away
With just one final blow.
One innocent little face stared back at you.
With eyes wide open, you knew it was not right.
Poor daddy, look at what you have done.
In a puddle of blood, I lay lifelessly. A girl.
Seven years. Your baby was too young to fight back.
But don’t be sad. Shed no tears.
With four final words, “I loved you daddy.”
I've escaped the evil. No more fears.
You freed the pain. I'm not alone.
The doing was wrong but at the same time right.
I suffer no more. With my sister,
Here in heaven, I am a free baby girl.
