Holding me tightly, I cried only one tear.
Whispering to me softly three words, I could only hear.
I did not understand,
Why you said what you said,
Why you did what you did.
All that I knew was of no importance.
Why didn’t you tell me before it was too late?
Why did you make me suffer?
All these thoughts raved around in my mind,
As you looked at me with sad blue eyes.
With no explanation and words unspoken,
I knew just then, what had happened.
Just one soft kiss ever so gently,
Left a warm spot on my lips
From the night before you left.
As I watched you slowly fade away,
Our grip on each other loosened.
You drifted off into the pure, dark nothingness
And I was left with nothing to hold onto,
Except all the pain and agony you left here with me.
