CAroline, Caroline, why do you cry?
All these feelings will soon pass by.
How can you say you are now alone
When love is all you've ever known?
Caroline waits on the grass by the river
To watch dandilions blow, shake, quiver.
They blow cross the grass, before the sunrise,
To land in endless tears from her eyes.
Caroline sits and whispers truths of the world,
Between soft little whimpers, and locks of hair: curled
She speaks of Lennon and Oko:Devotion Upmost,
But mainly a tale of love that was hers to host.
She had found the one, of her love she was sure,
But was completely amazed by what they thought of her.
Caroline held nothing back. No, not this time,
She told them exactly what she had on mind.
With their smirk, a smile, maybe a laugh
Fate turned on Caroline, she felt the wrath.
How could something felt so deep
Be the burden with which she was left to keep?
For now Caroline loved only the chance
That one day with them she would find romance.
The one that she loved still laughs, will smile
For maybe pity of hopeless love. Meanwhile,
The hope of Caroline still holds its place
The desperate stare can be seen on her face.
The want to be wanted, of it she trembles, shakes.
A soft tear appears, runs gently down her face.
How could true love not be enough?
Can it not compete with the lust of the tough?
She resolves to retreat to her secret place,
Where she alone can see her sullen face.
In a silver teary pool by the river she can see herself
Wasting, Staring, Drifting...
