Something More In Common....

Young girl with eyes of emerald green,
She faces her father and sees what they share;
Raven hair and olive skin, thats just where it begins.
Then she turns to her mother,
Sees their fine hair, their smooth skin,
And something more,
The share a man that they both adore.
Her wonderful father,
Sweet as a teddy bear,
Hes so good to them both.
She runs to her mother and,
Hugging her, hopes to one day
Inherit her curves and caring eyes.

Innocent child,
Sweet, sweet, innocent child,
How can you be mine?
Her mother smiles, turns away,
For long ago she had seen this day.
Long ago when she was still young,
And her life had just yet begun.
