A Lesson

A powerful trio,
Three of a kind.
A blazing inferno,
A midnight raven,
And the storm’s shadow.
Their powers are yet unmatched,
And together they cannot be defeated.
Within this trio their lies a pair,
A couple so deeply in love that
The fire besides them is neglected.
The raven is strong and true,
The shadow is mystic and fierce,
The fire yet dwindles as it is ignored,
And the flame sparks in anger
Striking out at raven and shadow.
The raven charges away,
Just as the shadow prepares to fight.
Inferno roars
The shadow responds with burning ice.
The inferno shouts of his dislikes,
’Till the shadow freezes his complaints with her ice.

So if there is one lesson to be learned here,
It is this,
Though you close your eyes to sights
And your ears to sounds,
You cannot close your heart,
To things you do not wish to feel.
So though the flame closed his ears and eyes,
To the blooming love of shadow and raven,
He could not close his heart to the love
As it grew between them...
And so it was caused to consume him,
Destroying him in whole.
