Darkness Is Waiting

She will always be unseen
Where she sits alone and scarred
No one will notice her empty face
To her the whole world is barred

There she lives all alone
In a cell of stone cold tears
She knows no anger, hate, or love
She knows no happiness, only fears

Darkness is her only friend
The light is something she won’t know
But darkness never comforts
And her misery will always show

The light would burn her skin
The darkness seeping into her
Nothing setting her days apart
Her whole life’s been a forgotten blur

Not one sweet person welcomed
Not one kind voice to comfort
Only a slow life that shows
All living people’s hearts can hurt

But still she has not one reason
For why she had to die
For not one rule was broken
The others they all did defy

So now she sits in waiting
For one small thing she could recall
Was it when she pushed her own killer?
Over the edge to his death fall?

So now her spirit’s waiting
In her cell of timeless night
There will never again be kindness
Never again will she see light

But was her revenge worth it
Infinity in darkness’s gown
Her death will never come again
Her spirits been tossed down
