But the record plays on
(Even if we don't)
And it still plays the song
(That we wrote)

Don't pretend like you don't remember
We just wrote it last September
As we layed head to head
Sprawled across your bed

And you spoke with such certainly
As you reversed our song
Wishing this moment would last an eternity
It was soon gone

Because someone had you brain washed
And I felt like our friendship had been lost
This friendship I worked so hard for
Had suddenly with out question been squashed

So tell me whats the difference between now and then
I want to know whats going through your head
Now that were not together
Does it make you feel better?

Because the record plays on
(Even if we don't)
And it still plays the song
(That we wrote)

And now you tell me not to get you wrong
Well, what else should I do
