She couldnt take it anymore
She ran out into the yard
Into the rain that did pour
it poured and it poured hard

She looked up in the rain
It mixed with her tears
the tears of her pain
and of her fears

She let loose a scream
at the top of her lungs
why wasn’t it a dream
the words that rolled off their tongues

“They must have lied
cause this just couldn’t be
he couldn’t have died
and left without me!”

She sadly said
and dropped to her knees
with her hands on her head
as she landed in the mud and leaves

The tears dropped from her face
onto her dress
her mascara no longer in place
her hair was a mess

“My dear boyfriend,
he is gone
my heart will not mend
I will never leave this lawn”

She thought back to the days.
of them laying in the grass.
basking in the sun’s rays.
perfect... it did surpass.

Their first kiss,
4th of July,
sheer bliss,
no lie.

memories...

memories...

The rain stopped
but still she cried
her head she dropped
she sighed...
“they must have lied.....”
