Why did it have to end this way?
I thought you were gonna be okay
When I hung around you I acted like I didn't care
Thinking that you'd always be here
As your final days passed by
I knew that they couldn't be defied
The last harsh words that we had said
could never be taken back again
Your final breath had been withdrawn
and that's it, you were gone
Now my vision of you is just a blur
I've forgotten how you were
Your remembrance is fading in the wind
Escaping through my outer skin
I only have pictures that I can see
Showing how life used to be
Lost memories still hiding in my head
threatening that they'll soon be dead
Asking myself, why did it have to end this way?
Maybe you'd still be here today
