she's sitting all alone
in the deep dark
she's crying to herself
her mind tearing apart
why is she crying
can she not hear?
our voices are calling
as our hearts are seared
she cries because
she's a lost little girl
and we're calling her back
into the real world
but little girls
can be naive
and little girls are
easy to deceive
she's deaf to our voices
i reach out to touch her
but blind to our senses
her vision's a blur
calling her back to reality
silencing her cries
she stops and she listens
lifting her eyes
i reach out my hand
with a warm smile on my face
and she looks unsure
but grasps anyway
and the darkness clears
as a light shines through
and the ground shakes and trembles
we don't know what to do
i begin to wonder
about her mental abduction
when her eyes slowly open
she's come out of her concussion
