Sometimes I wish upon a star,
A star that’ shining bright,
For a man to rescue me,
From an internal fight.

When I wished upon this star,
My wish did not come true,
For I am here writing this,
Not away somewhere with you.

When I wished upon that star,
That cold and dreary night,
I don’t think I meant it,
For I was full of fright.

Fright because I, wishing upon that star,
Thought of all the people I’d leave behind.
So instead of wishing for you,
I will just ponder you in my mind.
