Soldier's Aren't Alone

In the midst of the dark
They must embark
On a desperate mission
In the worst of condition

In the midst of the depression
She must fight her oppression
On a mission to save a life
Her own, her strife

The battle field is harsh
Dredging through the marsh
New friends dead all around
Trusting instinct for sound

The mind is the battle field
Searching for something to shield
All the pain she feels inside
She feels like she has died

Bombs and guns, tanks and grenades
Riots and protests, fighting and crusades
Missing their families dearly
Needing hugs, kisses, and comfort severely

Pills and knives, nightmares and flashbacks
Hallucinations and voices, anxiety, and panic attacks
Missing loved ones lost
Needing help no matter the cost

For both the war is never ending
Both lives are ever pending
Eventually they will learn to cope
Finding that one glimmer of hope
