He Had A Dream

He had a dream
Yes that Martin Luther King
A dream that segregation
Would disappear from this nation

He Had a dream that his people
Could sit under a steeple
And not be afraid it'll burst into flame
Every second being the same.

His dreams were a threat to some
Especially one
So the guy took out a gun
And said bye MLKJ your dreams are done.

But what he didn't know
Is that through rain and through snow
The colored would win,
With the spirit that was locked up within

They still have more spirit then whites
They turned on the lights
And praised God for they've been saved
It was the freedom they craved

And they got that craving
So many lives gone, worth saving
Now all the coloreds that died in those days
Look down and listen to their people praise

His words made a hole
His dreams made us whole
His people no longer live in a prison
Looking at life as a horrible vision

We are one MLK
Thanks for all you've done MLKJ
I wonder what life would've brought
If we hadn't been taught....

So thanks again for getting up there
Now I can hang with my friends anywhere
Most of my friends are black
I hope the segregation never comes back
