As I lay here on the floor
Chained and broken
My hopes and dreams shattered
Scattered about me are the remnants of what I once was
What is left of me, after he broke me

Beaten and naked, I lay on the cold ground
Restrained by my thoughts and feelings
Open for attack
Vulnerable to anything he could throw at me

Bleeding and crying, I plead for help
But the cry falls on deaf ears.
I lay, crumbled in my bonds
Hoping for the best, even though hope has long fled these eyes

A flash of light
It’s all gone
All my fears flee from me as I feel the warmth of your touch
You have saved me from self-destruction

You have unlocked my chains, and let me walk free
I’m scared what you might ask for in return
But as for now, I’m free…
