My Bullets

I took your hand and wrapped it in mine
You told me you had limited time
I started to cry
You said don't do this you must say goodbye
I told you I couldn't
I wouldn't let go
He said not to let go but to live life to the fullest
He'd said not to feel guilty about him taking my bullets
But how could I not I when I should have been the one who retired
And to this day I wish the bullets had never been fired
But you said to live life
So I haven't picked up that knife
To take myself away to be with you
We are stuck together with a special glue
Though one is dead and the other is not
We decided mutually to tie a big knot
I'll never let go
I love you, you know
I'll live life for you
And never untie the knot tieing me to you
I'll never let anyone take your place
For no one can replace your beautiful face
