I Pretend I'm Free

When the pain's too much
so harsh I can't even see
I close my eyes
and pretend that I'm free.

Gravity no longer holds me
and my body feels no pain
For once I succeed at all
none of my efforts are in vain.

People's judgments don't touch me
in fact they can't even hold water
And it's my greatest pleasure to say
now I'm my parent's favorite daughter.

I move through life with little or no effort
for I can take on the world with the utmost grace and ease
I have no problems with anyone
because we always do whatever I please.

I know this life can never be
but it's so nice to dream
That all this could be true
and I could reach even the farthest moonbeam.

When the pain's too much
so harsh I can't even see
I close my eyes
and pretend that I'm free.
