The Pleasant Pond

Slowly over the meadow
Through an ancient and withered wood
There lay a path unknown to those of the complex eye
Those who need to have their crutches
Those who need their power and metal
The path is old
Long has it been there and long will it remain
Cleared by a man long ago
Who needed time to think
A path leading to a place of serenity
A long and crystal clear pond of water
Brimming with life and a spirit that can never be tamed
A water so clear that upon dipping your hands into the pure liquid
You are relieved of your troubles
And remember better days gone by
Of times when you were riding among the clouds
Singing songs of great beauty and splendor
Do not stay there long
Perchance you are to find it
For this place is rare to find indeed
It is too beautiful a place to have its secret revealed
And to be over burdened with sorrows
So leave the pond
Follow the path
Walk through the ancient wood
And travel over the meadow
To where you first began
And walk onward
For the sun rises ahead.
