deep, wide, darkest black,
the mirror sees both sides,
alone I keep the darkness back,
tell me not your lies.

thoughts are like the river,
downwards they must flow,
look inside the mirror,
looking back, it knows.

sing now like the raven,
it's gentle touch, caress,
and be thee not persuaded,
through darkness comes distress.

blades of thought and reason,
cut within the soul,
son of many seasons,
eyes piercing like the snow.

beauty finds life's wonder,
others find its grief,
yet seeing life through tinted glass,
what darkened souls are we.

tender confrontations,
hearts open on the road,
they seek a destination,
driven, to be known.
