Pain Past Death

So soon is it my turn
To leave the place of my fathers
To walk in the halls of my creator
So as to not be with those living on
I cannot begin to understand why
So I won't ask so
There is so much that must be done
Before my time will come
I must see the things my heart wishes to see
Do the things my soul cries out to do
Feel, taste, listen to the world around me
See the colors of the world one last time
And experience all there is to experience
Before I go
I wish to ask forgiveness
From all I have wronged
To beg in sorrow and in pain
For all of my poor intent
I never meant to make you cry
I never meant to make you feel
Anything short of wonderful
That is what life is supposed to be
Full of splendor and warmth
Not the harsh and cold evil of cruelty
Yet how can I make ammends
If not a soul will listen to my sorrow
I was foolish in life
And now I leave this life
And enter the great beyond
With a soul weighted down
With my grief and sorrow.
