Your Tapestry

If I were to weave a tapestry of you
I’d use the sky so great and high
for your eyes, so blue

I’d take the fluff from the clouds above
To create your soft, delicate skin
And make gentle yarn, like the wings of a dove

The moon and star’s luminosity will deliver your brilliant glow
And tidal waves will be your hair, tossed and wild and free
The red of rose petals for your cheeks, this is what I’d sew.

When I miss you or when its cold
I would wrap this cloth around me
When I need to be daring or bold
I’d drape its tassels fondly.
