What's One More Broken Promise?

The day time was fine
There was lots of fun
We could look out the window
And see the sun.

It couldn't get any better
And soon the day turned into night
Along with the darkness
Came a serious fright.

We were just lying there
Having a nice time
So I asked you a question
And hoped you wouldn't lie.

You didn't lie to me
Thank you for that
But under the pressure of your friends
You really did crack.

You broke your promise
One more time
What makes you think
You won't do it again down the line?

I turned away from you
The way I always do
When I get mad
And don't want to talk to you.

I didn't say a word
And kept my mouth shut tight
I pictured everything in my head
And tried to make it seem right.

The darkness in the window
Is not what scared me
It was the darkness in your eyes
It was the look of furry.

I didn't know what to think
Or even what to do
All I wanted
Was to get away from you.

You got way too pissed
Just because I wouldn't talk to you
When in my mind
I had every right to do.

What you did
Hurt me so much
I was so scared of you
Scared of your touch.

It is part of your job
To try to protect me
But all you did was cause me pain
Or couldn't you see?

I was much more scared
Than I had ever been
That is why finally
I turned over and gave in.

I talked to you
And told you what was wrong
You had broken yet another promise
It was that same old song.

What did I expect
What was I thinking
Too much I guess
Add two more broken promises to the list.
