The Belt

Hers is the meaning, which I search in the night
The darkness approaches, black after white
I close my eyes, face covered in pain
And cry for the times, screaming you name

So many nights now, too many it seems
Left cold and alone, no hope can be seen
A void in this gap, mere dots in the sky
I look to the evening, ever passing by...

I look for the belt... and the buckle within
Its name I never knew, but I knew that you did
Picked for yourself, without a care in the world
A beacon by which memory, would never fail

Maybe one day, we will both look to the sky
Think back to our memories and the times we cried
Remember that love and that feeling we had
And forget all the times, when it seemed so bad

Sitting here, alone by myself
Looking in the dark and staring at the belt
I hope that you are looking and thinking of me
Of a man that you loved and his heart that you keep
