I can only try,
To see from your eyes.
I can only try
To walk in your shoes
I can only try
To feel your pain
I can only try
To think your thaughts
I can only try
But I shall never succeed.

You are beyond intelligence,
Beyond strength,
Beyond suffering.

You have been through so much,
You don't get the gratification that you deserve.

You seem happy,
But you're not.
You seem joyful,
But you're distraught
You can only wonder,

Why me?
Why now?
Have I not been richous?
Have I not done what I was meant to?
Did I do something to deserve this?
When will happiness arrive?
When will my struggles dissapear?

But they don't.
They never do.
They leave time and time again,
But always return.
Return in your memory,
Reminding you of your pain and fears.
You can never put it behind you.
Once you manage to forget one trouble,
Another fills it's place
Until they all pile up.

And everything you do,
Everything you say,
Reminds you of each,
Each terrible incident.
Death,
Rape,
Betrayel,
Loss,
Abandonement.

All this at such a young age.
You're just 13,
Can you handle this type of pain?
Why you?

Your struggles shall never come to pass.
Horrible things will continue,
Yet during the struggles,
There's always someone there,
Someone to comfort you,
Someone to make things better.
Family,
Friends,
Someone you don't even know.

So I repeat:

I can only try,
To see from your eyes.
I can only try
To walk in your shoes
I can only try
To feel your pain
I can only try
To think your thaughts
I can only try
But I shall never,
Succeed.
