She smiled at him
When she entered the room.
She knew it was the day.
They had every class together.
How could she help herself from telling him?
But, oh, she did.
She already had it planned.
First the kiss, then the note,
Then their last goodbye.
As soon as that last bell rang,
She knew it was time.
She hated this feeling.
She met him at his locker,
Kissed him, told him not to read the note till he got home,
And told him good-bye.
She drove home to silence.
Her parents were at work.
“This is perfect.” she thought.
She went to the second drawer by the sink,
Pulled out the revolver,
And a new silver bullet.
About the same time,
He arrived at his house,
The first thing he did was read the note.
As he read , tears came to his eyes.
It told him how much she loved him,
And of her plan.
“To end the misery” she said.
She told him to go on without her,
It would be all right.
As she sat in the floor,
Thoughts raced through her mind.
She took her last deep breath.
She placed the bullet in the cylinder
And pushed it into place.
She turned the safety off.
She prayed to God,
And cried one tear.
Then she pulled the trigger.
About that same time,
He arrived in front of the house.
When he heard the shot, he fell to his knees.
As they lowered her into her grave,
He placed a white rose and a letter on her coffin.
It read, ”Don’t worry. I’ll be there soon.”
