Today I opened my eyes
Felt the tears stream down
And saw the look behind your eyes
You took my face and cradled it
Within your strong calloused hands

You lifted my chin
And gently kissed away each tear
You brushed the hair from my eyes
And asked me not to cry

I stared at your face
And realized that you too,
Had begun to cry

And in that moment of silence
I realized that the tears I shed
Were being caught by you,
Shared by you,
Erased by you

And in that moment of beauty
I realized my tears
Weren’t that big at all.
