What You Said

You said you loved me,
You said you cared,
You said you’d never leave me,
That you’d always be there,

You promised me the world,
Then took it all away,
When you said to me,
Those mean things that day,

You said you hated me,
That you never cared,
You said you were leaving,
You would never be there,

You broke my heart,
And killed my dreams,
My world was over,
At the tender age of 17.

I cried I wept,
But I knew you would not come,
You had chosen,
The other one,

In my eyes I saw you for what you were,
But in my heart I knew you were good,
People tried to tell me it was all a lie,
But still I tried and tried

It never worked out,
And in the end it was all just a game to you
Only for me it was more,
But you just weren’t impressed by the score.

I tried to get over it,
I tried to move on,
But the bond we had was just to strong,
And in the end I couldn’t handle it,

When it happened,
The day was dark,
The weather was bad,
I said my farewell to all I had,
I never thought of you ever again,
Because I had finally reached my end.
