Rain Shower

I saw a rainshower today
I sat in it for a while
in the blossoming soaked grass
I had a friend with me
he sat for a while too
But his tired eyes
told me he'd be more
comfortable out of the spine chilled winds
blowing from my direction

He thought dry was better
He wasn't prepared for this weather

but my skin's used to the cold

When I closed my eyes he walked inside
I stayed in the rain all day to night
and he disappeared behind the window drapes
and toweled off the unwanted pours
Then came along another friend
who kindly sat with me
smiled and sat, happy to accompany the cold.
So I'm wondering now if I should follow the first to warmth
and give him my hands to dry, or if
I should continue to sit by the one
who is willing to weather the storm.
