Familiar Knock

I wrote last night, wrote about you
My only comfort in this empty, dimly lit room.
I told you before but you never knew
The heartache, the pain, the life without you.

My future is nothing, my past has left me
My now is painful, almost deadly.
I want to end it, loose this memory
I want to leave but I wont let me.

My heart is frozen, waiting, watching the clock
My only friend is time's dreadful, tick tick tock.
And even though i want the pain to stop.
I’ll never again hear that familiar knock.
