Beautiful Sunset

Every night I see the same sun set.
It’s a pretty little thing that no one will ever forget.
The vivid oranges.… the radiant yellows…
And don’t miss out on those breathtaking pinks,
Watching it all just makes me think.
There’s something out there that I just can’t see,
It’s like an unsolved mystery.
However, I know it’s going to captivate me,
It will take away my pain & misery.

As I watch the sun sink lower into the horizon,
And the yellows, oranges, and pinks slowly change
Into luscious purples and gorgeous blues,
I begin to wonder if this is a cluster of clues.
I doubt any of this can be explained.
What am I feeling? It’s all so strange.

I look to the left and then to right.
There is not a single soul in sight.
All the colors have faded away,
And the stars have come out to twinkle,
It’s no longer day.
Up above in the heavenly skies,
I see the glistening moon shimmering down into my eyes.
I look back out into the darkness of the night and I ponder.
Then I smile, and once again... my mind begins to wander
