Too Late

Time keeps ticking
And you can't sleep.
While you sit in the dark,
You begin to weep.

The moons light shimmers
Through your window onto your bed,
Where in your dreams you have fled.

But in reality you can't get away,
And soon enough, it will be day.
The bright sun will sparkle high up in the sky.
It will shine onto you like a prisoner on the fly.

As tears run down your pretty little face,
Your heart begins to race.
You're afraid for your life as you steal a glance
At that sharp looking knife.

The razor-sharp edge will take you
Away from ones you love,
From here on out, there is no peace.
Forget that stupid dove.

Daylight creeps closer as the night grows old.
You start to shiver,
The nights air is deathly cold.

One quick look at your ceiling and
You realize you are awake.
A swift glance to the left and
You see your mistake.
But it's too late.
The gates of Hell are now apart
Of your fate.
