Do you know how much you mean to me?
Because of you my soul has grown,
you added branches to my tree.
Please don’t misunderstand me.
It’s not all you that made me go.
Despite the words that accommodate our pain,
it’s the natural cycle that sets us free -
Free from spinning in our own whirlwinds
that were blending and crossing into our private lands,
where we are spinning so quickly by the actions of our own hands,
and where the freedom to make our own mistakes we demand.

But oh! What beauty in our grassy field,
we started a little artist’s guild!
But we must not be too constrained
by good intention or disdain.
We must always try to firmly remain
weary of true reason that causes us pain…

It’s Ourselves

- (and it’s everything in between) -
between our ears and our legs
and all we have seen
It’s our mothers…
Since we’ve adopted their dreams -

it seems it would be easier
it would seem…

Do you know how much I cherish you
and all the things that we’ve been through?
Our hearts are bound with super glue -
I didn’t want to take away from you.
I’m taking it away from me,
so I can learn to live on my own, you see
It’s too easy to hide under you -

Your warm caring wings
protect from the stings
of all the angry worker bees
and all their sharpened things.

It just so happens that in doing so
the sudden strength that made me go
is hurting you like it’s hurting me
but under greater light
we will certainly see.

So please do not misunderstand -
this is just me becoming a man.
To cross this bridge I must let go of your hand
and see you in The Mountain Land,

where old and gray we will come to be
The Afternoon’s Fluorescent Palace†
we will be admiring
and we will go back to our favorite spring,
that’s more like a river,
and we will remember

Rolling
~~~~~
Rolling along these asphalt paths
They’ve invaded Our Mother
and paved over Her grass
but we have decided that our glass
is half full…
if anyone asks.
