My Philosophy On Rhyme

Guide my hand across this page
Help me empty out this rage
Fill this sheet with flowing words
When you spoke to me I heard

I heard…

I hear you when you say
For me not to too far sway
And write throughout the blackened night
Until the noon of day -

My day in the sun
Crush the obstacles one by one
Turn the pain into fun
Polish my pen like the gun
That shot Little Billy
With his cherry Chilly Willy
Life here’s become so unbearably silly

So I write
To bide the time
I’ll make a dime and die
So guide my hand, please Great Spirit
It doesn’t always have to rhyme

Just so happens to this time.
