**note: this is my first free-verse poems, so if you could offer any
suggestions, i'd love it**
I am
a sunken ship
Dragged in
by icy water
My mighty power
goes out
My life
runs thin
I let out
a final cry
As though I
have chance to live
But I
have long been dead
I am
a sunken ship
With ocean
overtaking me
Twist and turn
then relinquish
I swallow
my last breath
Pure air
and life
Scents
of mist and salt
Lights, laughter
close to grasp
All fade away
I am
a sunken ship
I tumble
in a spiral of failure
To the depth
of the Atlantic
where dark creatures hide
I stop trying
to breathe
to see
to live
For I have long been dead
