A feeling that has blossomed

For months we sat next to each other
But it took the love of another
To even realize you existed
Now I know
And I don’t want to let you go

With three weeks left
Does it even matter
Will my feelings be wiped away
Like a mother wipes away her newborn’s tears of hunger

I wish I had another year with you
But alas your graduation is upon us
And as I sit
With tears rolling down my cheeks
I wish you luck with your future plans
And pray the Lord hears my prayer

The one man I know
Who doesn’t want kids
As one last teardrop goes on its way
I pray for the day
