Tell Me When The Ride Ends

Absent-minded, lost the will, and hopeless.
Tired, all the more reason to fall,
Let go and drop my head to rest.
The whirring of the motor a lullaby.

The calming sensation of the body in motion,
Sends us into sleep, makes my dreams reappear,
makes my nightmares surface, lost in an ocean of thoughts,
Reliving the past and it won't disappear.

Soon the soothing ride turns violent,
Twists and turns unbalancing us.
The sleep disturbed and into convulsions we are sent,
Quickly the feelings of safety are interred, slain.

I’m awakened by the sheer force and I’m torn,
To go back to sleep and wait for it to end or...
See it through to the end, the terror,
The anguish and the massacre of my beautiful dreams.

My nightmares grow strong and it seems,
That there’s no place for me to flee.
I want to go back to sleep without fear,
I have to be brave because I cannot get out.

I have to live my life until the end...
Tell me when the ride ends
