She stood in the back of the church,
Not knowing what to do or say,
As she looked on with teary eyes,
And silently started to pray.

She remembered the better days,
When Kate and she would always walk,
Through dark parks and alleys,
And could never stop to talk.

The days they would stay up late,
And eat junk food all night,
And the days they would get upset,
And promise to never fight.

Then, she remember the horrific day,
The first day Kate could drive,
And how the other driver spun out of control,
When they realized they couldn't hide.

Anne remembered her best friend's face,
The way it was just before the end,
And as Kate's casket passed her,
She knew her life was about to bend.
