I couldn’t be
That patient girl
I bragged about
Our brilliant romance
I tried too hard
To keep your heart
But you work slowly
I moved forward

So then I walked
But not away
I took the lead
And waited to see
And there I walked
Into the dying sun
He stood silently behind

Sometimes my heart wished he followed
Sometimes I understand why he stayed
But at the end there I dove off the edge
And let the sea take me away.

It washed his fragrance off my lips
It tired my heart, my lonely breath
And drained away the energy
Of remembering him smile at me.

You calmed my soul for so long
And now I’m raging with your absentee
I walked away with the hope you’d come
But the wind carried your voice away
