The Borrower

There once was a borrower
Who borrowed my heart
and borrowed the hearts of many
He thought he was slick
He thought he was quick
He thought he could have us a plenty
The girls we were fooled
It wasn't our fault
The boy was deceiving
Too sure to be caught
The one spring time morning
In midst of a thought
He realized surely love was worth more borrowed than bought
He's sorry to be so selfish so long
He tried to repent
But the damage was done
We had figured him out
He walked away with not one.
