Lost Key

Tonight I will lie on my back
Gazing up at the cloudy, rainy sky
I will examine every star
Suspended up so very high.

I will watch a plane pass over
And long to be on that plane
Escaping from living this life
From playing this game.

I've lost a piece to this puzzle
I've lost my way through the maze
The cloudy sky, the thundering clouds
Leaves my vision in a haze

So tonight I will sit out by myself
And let the night engulf me
And it will be at that moment
I will feel as if I'm free...

Oh how I long for tonight
When my soul can float away from me
Because as of this moment, I'm trapped in my own cage
And I've swallowed my own key.
