Fear

Cold silence, violent night,
I couldn't choose wrong from right.
I took your hand to help you up,
But then i noticed i had lost my luck.
You pulled me down, i fell by you,
Lost in thoughts i never knew.
You told me things that you feared,
Then my eyes went wet, they filled with tears.
I looked you in the eyes,
And saw you for the very first time.
But all along you've been in disguise,
So i looked deeper into your soul,
And saw something simple, something gold.
It was a little boy crying for help,
Crying because he wanted to be set free.
My heart just crushed,
And things went silent.
I got up and held my hand out,
Like a true best friend.
I told him not to fear everything would be alright,
And if he got scared to call me at night.
I will be a friend just like he was to me,
And hold his hand through life,
Just like he would for me,
And finally one day i'll help him set that little boy inside him free.
