The Wasted Lands

The terrifying dark where no light escapes
The projected shadows take on terrible shapes
The shadows convalesce into a frightening form
The lightning flashes from the tempestuous storm

The form takes the shape of a powerful man
But ravaging the tranquility was not part of his plan
He ate away everything like a parasitic scourge
He feels no need to supress his craving urge

The man was caught up in apocolyptic wars
But he left the world with unhealed sores
The behemoth shadow begins now to fade
Leaving a legacy of terrible shade

The sun shines out from the parting clouds
But all that remain is funeral shrouds
The wind blows out on the empty sands
Revealing the emptiness of the wasted lands
